Ford's method of regulating the electric system was the nichrome "resistor" that varied the current flow by increasing the temperature, and resistance, of the windings as input went up to prevent burning the points and coil. Crude, but effective, and inadequate for the modern electronic components. The original Ford distributor is more than adequate for all but racing. Save your money.
