I use signalstat units because I have them and have used them for everything for decades. They just eventually blend is and become invisible after awhile. On older vehicles I use a woven wire loom just to help them blend in.

I also use the regular lights and now install LEDs. [ after being rear-ended]

But, its your vehicle to do with it as you wish. There is no right or wrong way. [ Well, there can be a wrong way if the lights don't end up working. Hehehehe]
