Closed is simple, well designed and the torque tube being multi functional. Easy to work on and set up compared to Dana or 9" type rear ends. Just wish they had pull out shafts and safety hubs (like later stuff)
One of my gripes is late rear end where an early Ford one is ment to be. Obviously my opinion,

Its not hard to ad pull out axles to a banjo rear and you can get the parts to do it out of a early F1 or a merc.......
