Re: Count the flatheads in this movie clip from 1953
Well, that was before my time. I got out of high school in 1956 and went right into the GE apprentice course @ $1.37/hr. I was rich! Had a 39 Plymouth coupe and worked part time at a garage that had wreckers. We would drain the gas tanks for our cars from the wrecks so never had to buy gas. We had a long gutter on a slope so when we did oil changes we put the cans on it to drain. So we had free oil also and needed a lot of it. I guess you would call that multiple viscosity oil . But those were fun days and we had several drive in diners and movies. Oh did I have fun with my girlfriend (now my wife of 55 years). She would snuggle up to me in the 39. Oh, those floor shifts into 3rd gear were great .
