Re: Mitchell overdrive.

I’ve had mine in my Town Sedan about 16-17 years now, and would not own a Model A without one. Besides being able to comfortably cruise on the hiways, I even joy shifting into OD on our surface...

Re: Registering an out of state Model A in TN.

About 15 years ago I purchased YOM plates for my 1930 Town Sedan. I found them from a gentleman in N. California, who restored them. He sold the pair & told me to verify them with the DMV within 30...

Re: Plating

Just heard the past few days that the state of California is going to propose banning chrome plating in the not too distant future, citing air quality issues. This will go hand in hand with banning...

Re: Restamping a restamped block

I bought my Model A in 2006 from a gentleman in New York, and it came with a NY registration and barely legible frame rubbing, but no title. I live in S. California and had heard from car guy...

Re: I just bought another Model A

The 1930 Town Sedans did not come with roll-down quarter windows; I think those appeared in 1931.

Re: I just bought another Model A

Looks like a nice find if the wood is solid. Those headlights are not original….should be all stainless steel and not teardrop shaped. The Town Sedan’s are very comfortable and nice Model A’s!

Re: 1929 Model A - Headlamp issues

Do your lights just grow dimmer at a stop, then brighter when you start driving? Also, is it possible your car has an alternator when it was converted to 12v? At a low idle the alternator will not...

Re: Bought a 1930 Coupe

Like many have said, with time shifting a Model A becomes second nature and part of the Model A experience. It’s very satisfying to finally successfully downshift to second gear at speed; blipping...

Re: Over heating. Can't figure this one out.

That overheating with two different engines sure sounds like the radiator. Good luck with that and let us know!

Re: Over heating. Can't figure this one out.

If the radiator is truly plugged, backflushing will probably not clear it. I would strongly suggest having it rodded by someone that knows how to do it. When I bought my Model A 16 years ago, it...

Re: Mitchell overdrive

I have a 1930 Town Sedan, and had a Mitchell OD installed about 14 years ago, along with the 5.5 HC head, and it has the 3.78 rear end. The 4 doors are the heaviest Model A’s, and I would not...

Re: What gear are you in?

Not sure what you mean by 3,000 rpm, or throwing a rod…..must be an inside joke.
