Used a Brookville deck lid on my 29 roadster and was very happy with the fit and quality. It was one of the repro sheet metal parts that required the least amount of work to get it right.

I folded mine under the sub frame using hammer and dolly. However, The question I have is do you leave the scalloped edge open so it will drain water or should they be sealed off?

I would be careful not to use any metal objects in trying to relieve the dent. It is not clear in your picture what the dented area is. I would try using two pieces of wood on either side of the dent...

Mike, that is a good suggestion for areas that are accessible with the drill press arrangement. Thanks, I will use this technique in conjunction with the bull's eye tool next time.

I use the Bull's Eye "C" shaped body tool with the pointed pick attachment. Assuming it is stainless steel, it takes a lot of patience and going at it slowly and very gently. It will require raising...

Definitely use the reworked original. What you haven't given any consideration to is the fact that the repo will probably not fit like the original - and then will you take on some fun with the repo!
