Do you have the reflectors installed correctly? The hole for the bulb isn't in the center.

Re: Dovetail rubber's ??

No need to freeze. They will trim nicely with your dremel or a bench grinder. Use a lube like soapy water or silicon. Some say WD 40 but I think it might rot the rubber.

Re: Purchasing Shocks

I bought a set of Bill Stipe shocks about a year ago. He might still have some in stock. You can't go wrong with them. Expensive? You get what you pay for. Hey,its just money.

Re: manifold heater

Mine works great here in N. CA. On a cool day,40-50 you need a window open if the heater door is full open. If you live where it gets cold, well, I don't know.

Whats not to like? I drove my town sedan for two hours today all on back roads and just loved every minute. Sure, there was a rattle or two on the really rough stuff but hay, its 83 years young.

Re: So, was I in the wrong for trying to educate the 3bay seller?

IMHO you were wrong. It sounds like the seller is ignorant about Model A's but is very defensive as he no doubt paid too much for the car. You would go nuts trying to educate all the "ignorant"...

Re: hot riveting

I found that a propane torch is not sufficient. You need oxygen/acetylene. The backing plate acts like a big heat sink. Also if your holes are the proper size you cannot heat the rivet then insert it...

Re: Are there still a million Model A's?

Was Mr. Ford speaking about cars in the USA or world wide? Seems everyone here is just focused on the United States.

Re: Shine Shine! I need more Shine!!!

Weren't they painted with nitro cellulose lacquer? It would require buffing to obtain a shine but not sanding.

Re: San francisco bay area Radiator shop

Have you tried Western Radiator in Stockton. Al "Junior" Tassano has been there since 1955. Junior is in his eighties and knows old radiators.
