This is the first thing Id check. S-W horns are extremely well made, eeliable, and usually trouble free if maintained (oiled regularly!)

A good spark from rotor to contact point will jump about a quarter inch. That’s what I look for.

I would go one step further: rip out anything that is not original and put it back to stock. Then all restoration questions can be addressed by referring to Model A Ford specs.

Next time it does that, try turning the engine by hand with the crank. If it’s still tight you may have tight pistons and/or rings. That was my trouble with a new engine.

All anyone has to do is reduce the size of the photo file. Five easy steps:
1. Select Go Advanced button
2. Go to Manage Attachments.
3. Read the Attachment Key. There are at least ten file...

Dennis, Where did you hear that? I have never heard that advice, nor have I ever done that, and have had no adverse effects in over 50 years of driving Model A’s.
