So what I would need would be a narrowed front axle to allow room for the disc brakes plus the support rings for the wire wheels.

I know from experience that there is a whole lot more to using the stock A spindles than just using the adapter kit. You have to modify the backing plate significantly to do it and/or butcher things...

I guess I need to point out that I did not ask if I should do it and I didn't ask if I shouldn't do it. I asked if anybody HAD done it (while staying with wire wheels (in my case '35 wire wheels)).

Has anybody figured out how to do disc brakes (front and/or rear) whike staying with wire wheels (I realize that most any set up will require the re enforcing rings).

Also, Coopman, yes, it's an RPU ('28). I believe that I now have the master cylinder situation solidified and plan to use the Cardone.

When it's all said and done I will probably not need a remote reservoir but if I do I have a friend who has added them to a regular MC with very good results.
