Re: Model B Engine

My thoughts are the other way around. I’ve had great service from a B engine but have heard plenty of horror stories about A blocks. The advantages of a good B over a good A win my vote every time....

Re: Model B Engine

I’ve got a B block in my car. It’s great. There is a lot of over the top negativity on this thread.

Re: Diamond Block Questions

Aren’t you talking about a Model B block anyway? They would all have been produced after 1931. I would guess that many B blocks have had engine numbers stamped on them as required as, as stated, they...

Re: Dual plug heads.

A friend of mine had a Honda Goldwing with two distributors and what a nightmare that was to set up. He did eventually buy an expensive tool to help but sold it soon afterwords.

Re: 31 Roadster "chuffs" when shifting after it is warmed up

I agree, a small leak in the exhaust system is a likely reason.

Re: Optima battery that will not hold a charge

I have an Optima battery and charge itvwith a cheap and nasty 6volt charger and it works fine. I don't know where it was made but it does the job very well. If you want to know if the discharge is...

Re: Buying an out of state car on the internet

Even the difference between looking at a car from 20 feet and up close can make a huge difference. Mind you the best Model As will not look as though they have just rolled off the production line....

Re: Remparts Angouleme Rallye International

That looks like a good mixture of interesting motor cars. Were there any other Model As involved?

Re: Garage heat

Do you want the heat to allow you to work on the car? Keeping a car in an artificially heated environment is a great way to speed up the rusting process. Using a gas or fuel burner that produces a...

Re: exhaust

I have just fitted a new exhaust. It had a sticker on it telling me not to use a gasket so I did not. The downpipe needs to be lined up on the manifold then the clamp placed correctly. The diameter...

Re: Preferred Starting procedure

When cold my car needs to have the choke pulled out to fire then starts immediately once it is released. That's quite normal for any four stroke engine, if they start without any choke they will be...

Re: Remparts Angouleme Rallye International

That looks like another good day out. It's good to see that the old car hobby is still going strong in Europe.

Re: Spicey Car Photos

The first digital camera I used used a 1.44 megabyte floppy disc to store the photos. If you shot in HQ it would hold one photo!
It makes me smile when I see children learning how to use software...

Re: Ridiculouster

I think it's great. A good example of how invention and ingenuity has allowed a 90 year old car to still be working in 2017. Much better than so many of the trailer queen fakes.

Re: Trailering Model A's

Re: 1931 Ford Parts Value? Nice original stuff

Why is your way the only way? A Model A is driven around the World and your response is, Huh, I've driven further than that in Oz; you see photos of a well converted, road legal '50s style hotrod and...
