Cork seal in Block

I am installing a new cork gasket in the rear block. After installing seems that the crank will not go all the way down.Am I missing something here? I am thinking I need to bolt the cap down and...

Here are some more pictures of my rear main. It appears to be that way both sides. A repair? Can that be repaired ? And yes I 0.0015 clearance.

How much movement should a valve have in a valve guide? It appears that there is some gap causing the valve to rock back and forth. So how would you tell if it is time to change? it is very little...

You mentioned that the cam tunnel rear gasket could have been compromised.
If that gasket was compromised could that leak down in the bell housing and coming out the hole with the carter key or pin?

I took off the valve cover and checked lash and it could use a wee bit of adjustment but nothing alarming.
I did take the compression ring off and measured it and .024 i don't have any larger gauge...

I pulled the piston and the ring was intact.
The next thing I rotated the valve assembly and it appeared to be working properly.Next I am going to pull the valve cover and inspect the valves. When...

The rings on the #2 cylinder there were no cracked or broke rings. Tested 0 compression shot of oil and got 60lbs.

This all started with the rear Main leaking bad. I started with dropping pan and checking rear main tube for blockage. Checked clearance it was .0015 on the rear main. Put it all back together and...

First I dropped the pan to check rear main for blockage in the tube going out the slinger. I did recently add a High compression Head 6.5.
I did a compression check all cylinders 1,4,3 120lbs ...

No holes in Pan Gasket

Replacing Pan gasket . Ordered it from a supplier and it came with everything needed to do the job. One thing the rail cork gasket had no holes. Is this normal?

yes understatement I have been working on the doors and at one point ready to slit my wrists. LOL. But ya just cant quit. Walk away and come back and that for me works the best.

I have the chance to get a cable drive tach. Where do you attach the cable to.
Is there a drive that attached to Dizzy?.Any help would be great. Thanks George
