Re: Removing center crossmember

Finally took my body off so it’s time to drill. A poster above said the shank is 3/16” so do I need to use a 5/32” bit? The rivet head is 7/16”.

Re: Removing center crossmember

I meant welding some steel across the frame to make sure the frame doesn’t move while removing the center crossmember.

Re: Removing center crossmember

So no bracing is necessary for the center crossmember? I guess that’s only required for removing the front or rear crossmember since it obviously would free the frame rails.

Removing center crossmember

I need to remove and replace my center crossmember on my 30 coupe frame. Should I just weld some square stock across frame close to the crossmember to brace it? Any tips on removing the rivets?...

Re: How to remove the U-Joint from my Trans?

Having a tough time removing the bolt, the output shaft still turns in low or reverse.

Re: Removing 1930 front fenders

I finally removed all the bolts, I didn’t see where to remove the one with the yellow arrow. Is this necessary to remove the fenders? Also do I need to remove the rear fenders to jack up the front of...

What’s the best way to remove the pump studs for the fake bolts? Tried the double nut but it didn’t work.

Re: Brake Light Switch Backwards

I took it apart because the aftermarket '28-'29 switches are known for not working out of the package. When I took it apart the contacts didn't touch with the plunger pulled back, so I fixed that...

Re: Brake Light Switch Backwards

Yeah I didn't think the wires mattered which terminal they were attached to due to the design of the switch. I'll probably swap them just to see.

I'll pull it apart tomorrow and see if...

Re: Brake Light Switch Backwards

I don't have the engine ready to fire yet, I was just testing the wiring off the battery.

I have it mounted in the correct spot, I'm using an aftermarket battery box with hydraulic brakes.

Re: Brake Light Switch Backwards

Depress = pressing down. The brake lights are on without touching the pedal, when I press it down they go out. They did work before but I was using a 30-31 switch, I had to use a 28-29 this go around...

Re: Corn Head Grease Too Fluid for Gun

I have a tube in a harbor freight gun, test pumped fine. I need to pump it into my steering box. Are you guys screwing in a zerk into the fill hole for that?
