What is better to use under rain gutters and hideem welt, Loctite flashing and roof polyurethane sealer or 3 M fast and firm sealer. Should I put a little sealer in the hidem welt before I fold it...

1961 my buddy and I drove my 29 std coupe from Los Angeles to Grand Rapids, Michigan with all of our college stuff crammed into the trunk. Went thru Yellowstone and over the Bighorn Mts in Montana....

29 steering column support

I saw on an earlier post the use of a modified 30-31 support on a 29 steering column. Any other ideas as to how to support the 29 column to keep it from cracking the solder on the lower support.

Re: Late 31 carb

You are right about more things that are not correct! It has a 31 steering wheel and column, and 30 or 31 hood latches. When I bought it at 16 in 1959 it had a tin roof in place of the fabric and 16...

Late 31 carb

I have a 29 coupe with a late 31 carb on it. The gas line goes directly into the carb with no side bowl filter. I do have the glass sediment bowl on the firewall.
This was the setup on the car when...

I have a lot of pics from replacing the wood in my 29 std coupe, before and after.
You can private message me and I will send them to you.

Re: Original Firestone gum tires

They are near Seattle, WA and I can take some pictures of them if you like.
I had them on my car up until a few years ago and they are not too badly cracked. I will check closer.

Original Firestone gum tires

Is there a market for these? I have two that I pulled off of my 29 std coupe a few years back. They had actually come off of a homemade trailer some years before that. The tread is good and the red...

What about using the Locktite roofing black polyurethane? It stays a little pliable. Anyone use that?

Welting

What do you use to seal either wire-on or hidem welting and do you use it both underneath it before you tack it on and then also in between it to seal it closed?

Re: Late 29 std coupe

Just discovered that LeBaron and Snyders has the rear tip that I am looking for! Maybe Bert's will have the missing piece!

Re: Late 29 std coupe

Thanks Don, the ones that the suppliers show for the rear do not look like the ones in the above picture. The front match but since the trip rail extends beyond the rear top molding they have a...
