Oh gosh be careful. Once you change those tubes you are committed. Now that you have the sludge out, do this. Next time you change the oil (which hopefully is often) put 1/2 quart of plane jane...

I agree with post #2. Avoid adding water (even distilled water) if at all possible. However, if you have to cover the plates you gotta do what you gotta do. Charge the thing before you put it...
