Cheers for the replies,I figured it wasn’t a B model,I haven’t actually seen one in the flesh but was sure it would have the groove for the keeper if it was.

Thanks for the replies, I got the distributor out last night and it isn’t the same as the A.
It wasn’t a blind hole,but the distributor doesn’t have the groove machined in it for the lock bolt...

I just had the same problem,it turned out to be the base of the distributor shaft and also the intermediate shaft. Both ends on the intermediate shaft were worn badly as was the distributor drive...

The only way that could happen is if the chassis moves to far away from the axle to make the arms go over center. That being the cause,you maybe need a stiffer or longer spring.
