Re: Taillight fender hole.

The tail light brackets made by Vintique are not even close to being symmetrical. Even when you level them up they don't look right.

Don't use the fender hole position of the left light for the...

Re: Counterbalanced Crank

I have a 'scope similar to that one. I have never tried it but I don't think it is flexible enough to navigate thru the baffle in the filler tube.

So you saying you don't use the copper washer to seal around the bolt? I would think it would leak....

Re: Wheel Size regarding Radials

If I remember correctly your car is also fenderless? Which would make it lighter? Kind of an unfair comparison with a stock Model A in regards with steering and braking isn't it?

Re: Tire Stems

That's a good question that I have asked myself every time I check my tires. Mine are the rubber stems. Are the metal stems shorter.

Which brings up another question; Has anyone ever used a...

Re: Air filter for right-hand drive vehicles?

Maybe after all was said and done in the engineering department, the right hand drive car was an after thought?:rolleyes:

Re: Why Grease should not be used in a Steering Gearbox

You may be correct on the "W" being the abbreviation for "winter". But originally the abbreviation "wt." was used in this discussion. Wt. is the abbreviation for weight.

Then someone brings up...

Re: Lighting Switch Enclosier

Since both your brake and running lights both don't work I suggest you check your rear light(s) for good grounds. The brake light wire actually just takes a free ride thru the switch and is connected...

Re: Head Gasket Leak - Show & Tell

I have never used one but I have heard from others who complain about that type of gasket with the silicon around the water passages. I use Best Gasket Graphite #509 gaskets with no problems.

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil

Getting way off topic here (as is usual on Ford Barn) but these two posts remind me of the Olds Jetfire, with a Turbo Charged 215ci V-8. To prevent detonation from the 10.25 compression turbocharged...

Re: Why Grease should not be used in a Steering Gearbox

Just about! One reason is because is the 600w an ISO rating? SAE doesn't not go that high. So 600w is ~SAE 150? :p:p

Without the inclution of "ISO" or "SAE" the numbers are not telling me much....

Re: Why Grease should not be used in a Steering Gearbox

Brent, I am not disputing what you write I just have a question. Did Ford really use 600 wt. oil and what you refer to using in your steering box or was it more like what the vendors today call 600W...

Re: Best way to sell parts

I am a visual type of person so I always like pictures. I know a lot of people don't like eBay (and yes, I hate that the big vendors post hundreds of new parts, Like MAC's). But I have had good luck...

mike657894 is correct.

Re: wiper motor vacuum hose fasteners

Phillips head screws didn't come into existence until after the Model A so to answer your question, yes they would be slotted. Unless you have a Canadian built car, then they would be Robertson...
