Re: 1936 cabriolet ground strap location

I'd strongly recommend that anyone owning or working on a '35 - '36 Ford, pick up a copy of the V-8 Club's book that Don mentioned. It's a wealth of information, and can be ordered on the V-8 Club's...

Re: How many on the Barn were there?

Re: Ford V8 Distributor 68A

Me too. The phenolic material used to mold those inner caps will tend to swell and increase in diameter over time, and will require some sanding or filing to make them fit into their normal location...

Re: Bent Horn-Light Rod

The arrows, aka bolts, used on my modern crossbow are hollow carbon fiber. The aluminum versions available for my bow are also hollow. I believe that's the norm today for crossbows and long bows used...

Re: How many on the Barn were there?

Mark, maybe you could make the Early Ford V-8 Club's Eastern National Meet, next June in Franklin Tennessee. Should be a very nice event.

Re: 37 column drop

I do the same thing, but occasionally I can't get that bolt to break loose using a handheld screwdriver, so I go to a handheld impact driver to get it to start turning, then use a regular flat blade...

Re: Gasoline Alley - Hershey

Some pictures I took of the Gasoline Alley area in Red Field, 2021 Hershey. Most of this area is still there with many spots still open and available. Although some of the vendors who were there in...

Re: Which Shaft is Broken

Thank you, I think many of us here would benefit from seeing detailed pictures of exactly what failed, as well as knowing what actually caused this failure.

Re: 2021 Hershey

It was good to see you and your Dad there Frank, and also visit with as many of my other Early Ford V8 friends as I could find. I thought the crowds were down as well, but still a pretty good turnout...

Re: Which Shaft is Broken

I'm betting he already has 3.78 rear gears in that '41, but agree that 3.54 would be better for highway cruising. Also, if changing to 3.54, I'd suggest running with 15 tooth input, 29 tooth cluster...

Re: Which Shaft is Broken

Of course you do not need to remove the rear on an early Ford with a closed driveshaft to replace a broken axle, BUT you never know what else that failure could have damaged internally unless you...

Re: 1939 Ford Deluxe Vert STUCK in Reverse

What's the history on this transmission? Was it out of the car sometime in its recent past for repairs/rebuild by you or a previous owner? Or was the shifter top removed recently for some reason,...

Re: Which Shaft is Broken

After thinking about this a bit longer, before pulling the complete rear, the first thing I would suggest doing is pull those hub/drum assemblies and double check to make sure your problem is not a...

Re: Which Shaft is Broken

I'm thinking if the speedo is registering steady and varies with engine speed as you depress the accelerator, then something has failed behind the point where the speedo drive gear is located on the...

Re: Removing '35 Dash Light Switch

Yes, squeezing in on those two tabs at the same time and pushing out on the switch body from behind the dash will bring the switch out. Be very careful doing this, since that switch seems to be...
