Re: Downshifting problem

Double clutching, down shifting, spark control, hand signals and ahooga horn is what makes driving a Model A fun. Most muscle car guys just don't get it.

Re: Simmons head

Why do you day much better value? They seem to be in the same ballpark to me. One is updraft and the other is downdraft. $300 difference doesn't seem that far apart on a $2500 purchase.

Re: Example plug wires for Winfield head

Looks neat! The Brillman Company sells the braided high tension wire and terminals. You could make a coil wire to match.

Re: Simmons head

Yep.....I bought that Simmons head, intake and carburetor in Luray. No where near the price that they are asking for this one. The head I bought is painted green and the intake is painted black. ...

Re: Swap meet etiquette / Luray

The cars are in there pretty tight. I would have loved to been able to walk around the individual cars especially the curved dash Olds and the Ford Model "N".

Re: Swap meet etiquette / Luray

That was a great swap meet. I had good time, made a few purchases, got the tee-shirt. I had no problem getting gas once I got out of eastern NC. I got a room just down the road from the meet. Took...

Re: Batt. Supercharger

Would the extra length of the manifold have an effect? Sort of the same theory of a high rise manifold. I don't see any notable performance from an original manifold.

Re: Batt. Supercharger

I am concerned about the vanes of the inner cone breaking of and being sucked into the valves and cylinders. They look like they are made from a thin sheet of brass.

Re: Batt. Supercharger

Yep...That's about it. Just an adornment. The inner cone might make a difference. I suppose one could be fabricated. I doubt it would live up to the claims in the advertisement.

Re: Batt. Supercharger

No notable change in performance. Looks cool. I carry the advertisement from "Those Wonderful Unauthorized Accessories" with me. I am also running a high compression head and 3.27 rear end but I...

Re: Batt. Supercharger

Like JW Hash mentioned. I am running a Bat Supercharger on my 28 Roadster without the inner cone. I tried to post an image but for some reason it won't let me select a file from my computer.

Re: Picture perfect

My grandfather was 50 years old when the stock market crashed. Lost the farm, never recovered. I remember going to visit him in the 60's, the shack that he lived in and the pain on his face when my...

Re: Model A as a mobile studio

I agree with Marty. What a waste of time just to get someone's opinion of a taco. It's typical for this day and time.

Re: Will I fit in a Roadster??

I'm 6'1" 230 lbs with a 38"hamburger belly. You'll learn the trick to get in and out of it. It would be a problem if I had side mounted spares. Like Jim said, avoid pulling on the steering wheel...

Re: Unauthorized accessories

I saw this advertisement for the "Bat" Super-Charger in "Those Wonderful Unauthorized Accessories". While at Hershey a few years back, I noticed one in a rusty pile of parts. Twenty dollars and it...

Re: Who's running a Marvel/Schebler carb?

I'm running a Marvel/Schebler carb on my 28 roadster. I have not experienced any "vapor lock" type symptoms like I did with a Zenith. Here is my roadster configured with a "Bat" super-charger and a...

Re: Recap of the "Let's get personal" thread

It is interesting to see the numbers crunched. I would like to see it again in years to come to see how it changes.

I'm 59 years old.

It looks like folks in their 70's are the majority.

Re: NC title transfer

I went through that process with a Model A I bought in California. NC would not accept the California title because the VIN # did not match the engine number. The title was signed over to me and I...
