00 is the one you want to use. Be sure to thin the 1 Shot paint before you do it. Right out of the can is too thick. If you don’t have the 1 Shot reducer you can use turpentine… not regular old paint...

Why couldn’t you drill the torque tube up by the overdrive tap it with 1/4 inch pipe thread and a hose barb and vent it up there? You wouldn’t really see it. Just a thought.

Todays lacquer thinner is not like the old stuff. That being said, lacquer thinner in general will attack most paints.

I use interstate batteries and the caps are not glued on. The Delco ones aren’t either. You can pop them off you just need to figure out the best spot to pry on, and I bet even if they were glued on...
