my 2 cents worth from what i can work out there was several different suppliers and ford used what was at hand at the time so different cars from different plants had different filters as well...

i get the same noise at times have found that holding some hard bar soap on the sides of the belt while running cures the noise until the next bout of wet weather

i would say game over for that flywheel taking a little of the bolt heads may work for a while but you would need a straightedge over the boltheads to gauge the clearance could be a lot of work for...
