Is your commutator clean and shiny? Slide the dirt cover back a little and clean the running generator with a strip of energy cloth.

Suggestions for a good drop light. At Cabin Fever I bought a quality one but i can't see with it. the soft light blurs on me. Light bars do the same. I haven't found a battery light that will stay...

cotter pins

Does the cotter pin ever get loaded during operations. I don't mean sheared of by a mechanic. The pin detains the nut in place from vibration turning the nut, right? Shouldn't be much load on that.
