Re: Another unique V8 tool

Yes, the tool is to gauge the health or if you have the correct fuel pump rod. There is nothing on the unit that states which engine era it is designed for, I'm guessing 38-48 somewhere in there. In...

Re: transmission floor cover

I think it's 40 Merc, I'll check one of mine. By process of elimination it's 40 Merc, all pre 1940 Fords have a shift tower hole, too big for 40 Ford, that leaves 40 Merc. The Lincolns are radically...

Another unique V8 tool

Here's another V8 tool that was in my parts of unknown origin, no brand name, don't remember buying it. Pretty obvious what it does, but I don't think it's too necessary, it makes a nice collectible....

Re: 40 convertible w/s stainless ?

Before Drake made his sets I made several pair of the splice clips to sell used 37-40 Conv/Woody windshield trim. I made the splice clips from 48 Ford door stainless as donor material. I always had a...

Re: Window regulator mechanisms

That arm doesn't look installed correctly, the roller should be inside of the track of the window channel. The arm and roller are slid in on one end of the channel, then the other arm is slid in...

Re: Window regulator mechanisms

When a regulator is moved on the work bench under no load is a whole different situation then when it's got to work pushing up with the weight of the glass and the binding of the channels.
I did...

Re: Window regulator mechanisms

I have as many of those rollers as you need for free, but I think if the photo you show is the regulator you need them for, you are going to have quality of gear issues. Does it cycle through its...

Re: 40/41 Pickup-Heater Ducts/Vents

Here is a photo of a 1940 pickup cowl with the smaller version of defroster die cast ducts,(same as 1940 passenger cars) the one with X was removed from this cowl. The duct with masking tape is the...

Re: 40/41 Pickup-Heater Ducts/Vents

Oval slots above instrument and glove box hole are where nozzles install. This is a NOS cowl for 1942-1947, 1941 is the same.

Re: All you 60hp fans

My comments are based on what I have actually sold. The 1940 is the most desirable for racing use. I sold a running 1940 60hp for $1500. I have sold incomplete engines 1937-39 for $300 range, have...

Re: Truck based woody

Before you go any further, make two of everything. Someone is going to want a Woody like that when you're done. (easier to do now)

Re: Nashville/North Alabama Auto Events Jan. 16-25?

Put the Natchez trace on your route to Alabama, it starts near Nashville, do a wikipedia search. Before train travel, goods would float down the rivers and this is the route they walked back on. The...

Re: Truck based woody

When you get your Woody done you will be swamped with orders to build more.
Back in the day(they still do) Ford offered "drive away: chassis with just a cowl. The one without a windshield...

Re: An Early Ford Truck Post... Let's see them.

I sold the Model A, but kept the bumper for sentimental reasons. If you look in the previous post, its a 3X6 wood beam.

Re: 1936 ford pickup inner fenders

There is a big dimensional difference between 1/2 ton commercial inner fenders and the big truck. 1935-36 share and 1937 is by itself, pickup or big truck. Contact screen name "oldandtired" he is on...

Re: An Early Ford Truck Post... Let's see them.

The model A's an award winner, sort of. Hooter girls pick. The 34 cab is being dug up by Mr. Potter (his real name) discovering "its a wonderful life" The 1951 is a Kansas grain truck powered by an...

Sorry I can't help with caps shown, my limited knowledge ends with 1948. I'm guessing those are accessory 49 or 50 maybe. What are they?

Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence

Thank You for your helpful data. This helps explain the mystery why I can't find any 1941-47 Ford Script 3/4 ton hubcaps. The production numbers for 1941 could be 3,000 or lower and 1942 a lot less,...

Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence

Mercman from OZ, The collection of one ton caps is the reason I went out on a limb and called the 1941-47 3/4 ton Ford script cap the rarest. I didn't include Lincoln and Mercury. If I can find the...

Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence

According to Ford literature the hubcap for a 1939 3/4 ton would be the same hubcap as 1939 Standard car, same for 1940 3/4 ton truck. 1941 thru 1947 3/4 ton would take the cap shown in post #1. One...

Re: The rarest Ford hubcap in existence

My lawyer said I can continue to call the 3/4 ton caps the rarest because I didn't mention Mercury or Lincoln.
Here is why I came to the conclusion that the 3/4 ton hubcaps are so rare. I have...
