Re: 59-AB engine components

Check out Red's Headers. They sell valve train kits including new Scheider cam and one piece guides and hollow adjustable lifters, Zepher springs. Save money when combined in a kit.

Re: Puttin a key in the drivers door

Yea, a die would probably be the best way, you will need a lot of press power, or a bit of hammering. Another suggestion is to cut that portion from a passenger door and TIG weld that in. Best of...

Re: Flathead & transmission won't sit back far enough?

I looked at one of my 35-36 frames and the transmission mount on the frame is different then the 37 frame. I learned something new about old Fords again!

Re: Flathead & transmission won't sit back far enough?

I just double checked and the 37 mount is different. Part number 78-7085, Van Pelt Sales has a photo of it.
Apparently ford changed the frame mounting location? Or maybe your rear axel is moved...

I have a lead on a 1950's Oldsmobile side shift transmission. Same internals as the Lasell but the tail shaft is much shorter. If interested let me know via pm or post, and I will forward you the...

Re: Cadillac 331 in a Ford

Just sent my early 51 and 52 Cadillac distributors to Charles Schwindler in New York. He is going to modify/update them with later fly weights and vacuum advance to use manifold vacuum. I will try to...

Re: 1937 Cad/LaSalle Trans

Does anyone know a machine shop that could shorten a Lasell main shaft and cut the Ford spline on it for the Ford U joint?
I am wanting to use the Ford torque tube set up.

Re: Cadillac 331 in a Ford

Thanks for the tip. He did not have the motor mounts. But he listed an original Cadillac 331 bellhousing. Since I am installing a Laselle transmission, this was a rare and great find.

Re: Street Cam

I have the schneider 248F in my 39 sedan. It has the little bump rumble at idle and drives out really nice. It comes in a .320 and .350 lift.

Re: Troubleshooting Transmission '47 pickup

Yes, Van Pelt is a great source for bearings and other parts. I have rebuilt about seven in recent years past. A couple for me and the rest for friends. Pay attention to the end play tolerance on the...

Re: 1951 Ford, runs fine then runs bad.

I recommend a quick and simple test to see if the generator is operating properly. Put a digital volt meter on the battery terminals. Set the meter to VOLT function. Start the car and bring up...

Re: dead spot on starter and sticking bendix

I had a car many years ago that would not crank at all, and then it would crank just fine. I finally found that the armature when in a certain position would be shorted.

Holley 94 4 bolt base?

I have a couple Holley 94 carbs with a 4 bolt base instead of the 3 bolt base.
Do you know where the 4 bolt bases were used? I would like to obtain a couple more 4 bolt bases.
Thank you!

Re: Cadillac 331 in a Ford

I called Belmonts Rod and Custom. Very nice people, unfortunately they do not have the motor mounts for the 331. They do have them for the 1964 Cadillac engine 390, I think?

I am going to make...

Cadillac 331 in a Ford

I am looking for a set of motor mounts to put a 1950's Cadillac 331 in a 35-40 Ford. I know Hurst made these in the past.
