Re: OT: What type wood between frame rails and truck box?

If you go with oak, be sure it is white oak, it has a finer, tight grain whereas red oak is a more open grain letting in moisture. LRF

Re: Value of an Un-Restored Model A Engine

If the engine is running so you can hear it or you know the history of the car or person that it came from, I'd say the running engine is worth (to me) $500. My friend lost his wife recently, his...

Notice the "made in USA" uses two different size stamps AND the "S" is printed upside-down. Not at all Ford quality! LRF

Re: Tail light Wiring

Find the engine number and look for the stamped date that is on the left side of the fire wall under the hood. I think it's stamped on the upper part of the two piece fire wall. LRF

Re: Tail light Wiring

Can you tell us the year of this "A"? The oil dip stick suggests an earlier '28? Maybe you have that rare E-28 switch, I don't know, I own '30s. LRF

Re: Distributor Locking Screw, HELP!

And don't over tighten the screw that pushes against the distributor, it can crack the base of the distributor, the jam-nut will hold the screw in place. LRF

Re: Prices going through the roof?

Let's see; an interior is $5000, a paint job is $5000, an engine is $5000. So a $20,000 Model A is $5000 for the completed body, fenders, etc. Suddenly, it's seems that that $20000 is a deal! IMO. LRF

I once installed 32-50 bulbs. The high beam (50cp) actually killed the running engine when turned on. I needed to readjust the generator but I replaced the bulbs to 21/32 which was faster that night....
