Wow tubman, good stuff! I’m typically a straight up timing light guy but what u say makes sense. I’ll start with the Vac gauge & get best Rpm & back off a bit seeing how it runs there!!

Hi all, specs show for stock 1949 8BA timing s/b 2 degrees BTDC. Mine has a mild cam, a Merc crank & dome pistons. What should I set timing at. I think it s/b advanced from that but how much?

On a ‘35 is there supposed to be a grommet or bushing around the gas pedal throttle rod where it goes thru the floor, see red circled in pic. Pic is of a wood floor board mine is metal with same hole...

Received mechanical oil pressure gauge & checked. I was very happy as pressure tested @ 50-60 @ 900-1200 rpm.

Since engine refresh & re-install on 8BA my starter bendix gear intermittently dis-engages prematurely letting it run without engagement. Car starts OK but know it shouldn’t disengage & spin freely...

J what are you thinking, the leak is definitely coming from the mating surface of the boss & the canister?

Absolutely, when i changed out the .090" orifice & replaced with a .065"one from an I thought, worse condition canister I had I checked it and made sure it was clean & clear.
