Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

You can see that the roof is not from a 55-56 wagon. Could have come from a 59 Edsel- seems that the y had a lot lower profile. A beautiful build in any case.

Re: 1958 Ranch Wagon Front Disc Conversion

I used Granada spindles on my 56 wagon. All you need to do is ream out the bottom hole with a 6 degree reamer. End of story.:)

Re: Canadian and Australian grille for '55 Ford

Not sure about the 55, but the 56 Meteor is different than the Ford grille, not just the V. I have most parts for a 56, the park lights, and everything else is different. They are not cheap, as there...

Re: wiper motor question

Yes, the 55/56 Fords had vacuum wipers. Someone at one time mentioned that tri year scrub wiper motors could be adapted to work.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

Yes, the exhaust pipes came out at the sides behind the rear wheels, and never came out at the bumper tips as shown in the red/white Parklane.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

It almost looks like the roof has been changed, because my Parklane had a higher 'crown'. If you look at a wagon, you'll see that the roof looks higher than a hardtop/crown vic.

Re: Custom Wheels

After checking with friends, and members of different clubs, I have heard many more complaints from the Cokers, than the Diamondbacks, but the final decision is yours, of course.

Re: Rancheros and Utes

If you check the roofline on the two yellow 55s in thread 11,against the 56 roofline in thread 13, it's easy to see the difference in the two. Thread 17 is again a sedan roofline.

Re: Rancheros and Utes

Don't think it started out as a Parklane, but rather a Crown Vic. The Parklane still had the taller windshield than the Crown, and it would take a lot of work to make the "Crown" fit a wagon...

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons

Maybe that as a sedan delivery, it should be the cheap model, rather than the Fairlane trim??

Re: Can Old Dual Horns draw to much Amps?

In my younger days, we would use 6 volt horn on our 12 volt cars. Never used any type of fuse/breaker. They sure got peoples attention.:D

Re: 1957 Ford park will not hold

Back in the mid 60s, we were doing a dynamic compression on a late 50s Ford. This was winter time. Anyway, to do the compression test, you ran the engine round 2000rpm, and we had the scope hooked up...

Re: 1961 Fords - Where have they all gone?

Purchased my 61 hardtop about 5 years ago from a fellow that was being put in old age home. 352, auto trans, P/S, P/B. White with red interior. Has only 68,000 original miles.
