Re: T & TT Length

In my old neighborhood, there were many "Model T" garages with half height extensions added to the back wall to fit the nose of bigger '50's cars.

Maybe you could do the same to a "late model"...

Re: ORIGINAL brake light switch location 35-36 Ford

Here is a lever switch mounted horizontally under the floor board on a '35.

May need to squint a little so as to obscure the un-Ford stuff in picture (of course the switch itself is the other...

Re: Worn Clutch and Brake Pedal/Spring Pins?

Last time I made the shaft out of a long 3/4" bolt with the plating polished off and cut the snap ring grooves to match the thin modern snap rings.

I found the end washers in the "machine...

Re: Master cylinder to brake line adapter

Something to watch out for when using those adapters; couple times I found that the adapter contacted the body of the master cylinder instead of seating on the brass insert. Faced off the body a bit...

Re: 1936 Phaeton glove box door - Rubics cube ?

That hinge area is certainly different than a closed car dash. After playing with a loose door in an old dash; I think I can see how it could be removed thru the opening and out the back as described...

Re: 1936 Phaeton glove box door - Rubics cube ?

Can't see why it would be any different than a closed car glove box, take the spring thing off, take all the screws out, slide box back, and rotate the hinge leaf around, and lift the door out.

Re: Hydraulic Brake Line Connectors?

I've also found that the new copper washers available now-a-days are too hard and need to be annealed before use.

I started the post and then couldn't find the picture, so I deleted the text. The when I found the picture; I was going to edit the post; but it seemed to have disappeared so I started a new one and...

Re: '35 Ford Standard Trunk Seals

Been already answered; but here's a picture I saved when I got the seals.

Re: Seat stuck...

The tracks are kinda hidden under the seat pan; possibly work the seat all the way one way and using a light and mirror get some lube onto the exposed portion of the slides; then work the seat the...

Re: Rear Engine Mount?

Yep, that's the bottom of the old mount that had separated when the rubber rotted away.

Re: Torque Tube to Differential Seal

Since the axle is out, I would take the turtle off along with the little snap ring at the front and pull the tube. That way you could inspect the front roller bearing and sleeve and replace if...

Re: '35 Ford Coupe tail light lamp

If I remember right; many stock sockets had even depth slots and the bulbs had even nubs and had "top" printed on the base. Think we even had 12v bulbs with even nubs in an old box at the truck shop.

Re: 45 Truck parking brake problems

Sorry about the misdirection; I totally overlooked that those open drive banjo truck rears had bolt on E-brake cables.

Re: 45 Truck parking brake problems

Looking at your latest picture; part of the cable tube is missing. The spring stop clip bears against the tube so that is probably why the arms are not held back to the rear when released.

Looking...

Re: 45 Truck parking brake problems

^^^^^ I was thinking the same thing, if the lever is located so far forward at rest it would unlikely run out of travel before moving the shoes very far.

The book I have shows them arranged like...

Re: 1935 NORS brake drums

The '32-'34 spindle gives it away.

It's not a '32 axle; it's the later "skinny" axle used up until '36.

I just thought it funny after walking by it all the time I never noticed that it had...

Re: 49 F1 Brake issue

I start out by putting the adjuster in properly. Sometimes it is fun learning about unfamiliar stuff.

Re: 49 F1 Brake issue

F-1 and F-100 backing plates are clocked to the rear on the spindles to permit the brake hose to clear the top kingpin boss on the spindles.
