Re: Flywheel part numbers?
Well, not sure I understand this one because the flywheel diagrams are numerous and obvious. But if you really can't find them, the V8 call-out is on Pg 215. The base number is 6375. The listings...

Re: Trouble shoot 1950 8Ba initial start up Help
The compression numbers don't look that bad for unseated rings, so that should rule out any valve issues. So about has to be an ignition problem. Can you post a couple of photos of the distributor in...

Re: The question of the day?
The coil will work reversed (but weaked), the generator won't work. Did it start? Just attempting to start it shouldn't do much. Install the battery correctly and see if it will start and run.

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
Ok, frnkeore, me too. My first car was a 30 Model A coupe. I was like 12 or 13. No floor boards and no exhaust pipe. The carb leaked and it would blow a ball of flame under your feet ever so...

Re: Trouble shoot 1950 8Ba initial start up Help
Before you start taking things apart, need to check what you are doing. A compression gauge will give you a good indication if the valve clearance is anywhere near correct. If there is a spark and...

Yes, the file you sent me was 3.27 MB and the maximum size you can post (per the limits listed in the pop-up menu). This is 120KB. What computer are you using, or are you doing everything on your...

Re: Steering wheel shim
It is almost always a file size issue if you having a problem. Most camera/phone images are way to large to post and need to be reduced to below around 585KB.

See if any of this helps. The big issue is finding the hubs and drums.

Re: 39 No fire at the plugs
I know, agree, but doesn't sound like how he has it wired. He keeps referring to a negative to the (-) side of the coil. But no idea what he is considering a negative.

Re: 39 No fire at the plugs
Ok, what does this mean "The positive 12 volts goes to the + side of the coil. Negative to the negative on the coil." Negative what? You need to keep in mind that this is most likely clear to you,...

Re: No door key
A locksmith should be able to rekey the tumblers in your door locks to match the ignition key. Phil would know.
