Michael. Thank you for correcting the 9727 transition. Also, for the info on original vs repro linkage ends. I must have original linkage, because the rubbers fit my balls. Can I say that?

Scott. You can use the shank end of a twist drill bit to measure the bore of the pushrod bushing. Larger drill sets come in 1/64" (0.0156") graduations, so you can get pretty close on the bore...

My first thought would be a air leak in the manifold/carb area. Check any rubber hoses for loose or cracks, There must be an air leak if you need to have the idle mix screws out to get enough fuel...
