Re: Oil guage indicating backwards
This is an example of where knowing your general location would be helpful. It is the beginning of flea market season. Spring Carlisle is just a few months away and a few weeks after that is Ford...

Re: Pre Osha
I must not be seeing what you guys see. The car's front tires are supported on purpose-built stands with wide bases. I see no problem.

Well, that is Free-Market Capitalism!
Your fear of him passing along his "affliction" to another generation is probably misplaced. It is doubtful that he has sufficient male hormones to be of any...

Re: "lil red" 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente
The condition of the trunk makes me jealous! If that is the extent of the rust you have a truly great find. I did that power steering power valve about 40 years ago. I modified a pair of regular...

Re: "lil red" 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente
That was the punch line of a joke back in the day. A new car was to be produced as a joint effort, combining the Mercury Comet with the Plymouth Valiant, to be call the Vomet. It would have throw...

Re: Cam and Lifter failures
Boxed up and shipped.
Surprised at the cost of US ground parcel post. $60 including $500 insurance which I hope I do not need.
Cam and lifters should be at Oregon Cam on Saturday.

Yes, of course.
That is one of my constant pleas---lets close the loop so others can learn from the experience.

Re: Cam and Lifter failures
For anyone contemplating cam and lifters in this day of lesser quality parts.....
I contacted Oregon Cam and they quoted me $90 for the cam regind and $5.50 per lifter to recondition them. They...

Re: Cam and Lifter failures
In the past, replacing cam and lifters was SOP. Now, I am rethinking that. I kept the lifters in order so they could be returned to the same cam lobe.....and then I dropped two and now I don't...

Re: Cam and Lifter failures
Thanks for all the replies----and the links. I WILL look at all of them before I decide.
Also thank you all for graciously tolerating a non V8 question--some forums would be "rude".

Re: Ardun sales brochure
One great thing about a slide rule is that no one will ever take it off your desk. Calculators were often "appropriated" by fellow technicians--but never my slide rule.

'38 Pickup Hood Hinges
Well, it seems as if during all the disassemble, painting and trailering the parts around that the HOOD HINGES might be lost.
IIRC, they were pretty simple--a couple of pieces of angle connected...
