Re: October Street Rods Meet

If you plan to go, better make it a day trip and not an overnight stay, the motel room prices will be quite expensive for the weekend. Any Model A there will be highly modified.

Re: Body Cart for Tudor Body

I suggest that you use steel wheel casters on your cart, rubber or hard plastic has a tendency to flat spot after a while with a load on them, making it difficult to move.

Re: Garage lights

Yes as 2935ford posted, the existing lights can be converted to LED with a simple rewire and the ballast can be left in place if you want. Check the 1000 Bulbs web site for great pricing on the LED...

Re: plating

I suggest that you take a picture of the parts you are sending out for work and send a copy to the shop. In case of a mix up during the process it will give a record of what is in your order.

Re: 29 Tudor electric wiper

Remove the wiper blade and try it. Bench test will not have the resistance the blade against the glass has. Maybe the motor is too weak to move the blade.

Re: Removing the entire side of a 30 coupe - 1 piece?

Removing the entire side panel should be possible although that seems like a lot of extra work to effect the repair you describe. If I were to make the repair that you describe, I would remove...

Re: 1930 Tudor door glass

If you damage the heads screws while removing them, order a replacement set from one of the "A" supply houses. Careful not to use a screw that is too long as the inside top of the door can be...

Re: Hinge Pins

Yes they are knurled at the top. If they weren't, the hinge most likely would stay stationary in the center s pillar side and rotate in the door, thinnest part of the hinge. First thing to observe...

Re: To rebuild or not to rebuild - that is the question.

If you are in the "fiancé" stage of your relationship, and new to the Model A cars, I suggest you shop for a complete driver Model A. Restoring a car can be time and money consuming and a strain on...

Re: 31 Hood with 32 hinge

Probably came from here:http://www.rootlieb.com/ford-1928-31-hoods.html Some hot rod guys like this combo because the hinge pivot is hidden.

Re: Do I have too much toe-in?

The measurement is best taken with the feet up and extended while in one's recliner.

Re: Electrical Fuel Pump Wiring??

I suggest that you source and install an inertia switch from a late model Ford vehicle, this switch will cut power to the electric pump in case of an accident.

Re: Update - Locking Handles

FYI, Speedway Motors has paired, keyed alike outside door handles that fit and work as they should with no needed modification.

Re: What kind of glue for running board mat?

You must let the contact cement, no matter the brand, dry to a "tacky" state before you place the two parts together. Contact cement will not dry if the parts are placed when it is wet, you have...

Re: Cowl Lites

Don't think a driver could see past the front bumper with the original cowl lights on a dark night. That said I bet some nut tried it.

Re: Body Off Attempt

If you remove the wheels and use four of the steel wheel dollies available from HF you can lessen the height that the body needs to be raised. Also with the dollies, if there is room to the side,...

Re: Hinge pins

Stainless steel pins are available oversize at 0.245". I used a 0.250 reamer to size the holes in my hinges as they had some wear. I suggest a reamer rather than a drill bit as the size will be...

Re: Paint situation

The body shop will dictate what needs to be done. Most will not paint over old, poor condition paint. If you decide to strip your car, do some research on Dustless Blasting, have seen video's for...

Re: Painting Accent Stripes

Pin striping is an art. Watched a real life stripper do the fancy work on a car one time. The attached video, while not a car, shows what a skilled hand can do. ...
