John: THANKS! (why didn't I think of looking there?). That's pretty definitive! It's interesting that given so many Zenith carburetors had the brass needle seat none of the parts suppliers mention...

Yup, it's the brass seat as shown:

Thanks! Seems it would leak without a washer. Do you put Permatex or anything in it?

Problem is my GVA doesn't seem to work and the car runs fine (but maybe a little rich) with the GVA turned...

Hi Fred! Long time no see! We think about you every time we go to the coast and pass by your old house.

The one I'm talking about is for the GAV that the gas adjusting needle fits into to regulate...

I just received a brass carburetor adjusting needle seat for a Zenith carb from one of the suppliers. It didn't come with a washer, but I'm pretty sure there should be one, right?
