Re: Measurement of frame sag
The problem using a straight edge on the bottom is all of the bolt protrusions and the cross shafts. Will try the laser and see if that works. It may not be a precise enough dot, however

Measurement of frame sag
How should I measure to see if I have frame sag as opposed to the body blocks being incorrect and causing door alignment issues? Can I use a laser line and measure at various points?
Thanks

Where and how do the floor mat studs (photo attached) get installed. I did not see holes in the floor for them. I do have a few studs on the floor and lower firewall, although the studs don’t seem...

Re: Help - Front End is Off Center
Is it possible that the front axle is off center? When I set a plumb bob down from the center of the crankshaft to the axle, the mark is not on the center of the axle. The mark is, depending on how I...

Re: Help - Front End is Off Center
Not sure what type of bolt was used on the spring. Definitely not a square top bolt. Underside nuts were not castellated nor were they cotter pinned. But were tight.
Looks slightly off-center, but...

Re: Help - Front End is Off Center
I think that the bolt is hidden by the crank bearing plate. I am a bit leery of opening up the u-bolts to expose the bolt given the pressure on the springs. Thoughts?

The spring looks to be centered. I cannot see a center bolt, however (just the U clamps). I have the original non-sprung motor mount if that is relevant. I have the hood off and radiator out at the...
