I recently got rid of my long block crate. I think you are over thinking what is needed. Rich gives you the size needed to cover the motor and the curved drawings are to support the front and rear....

U-joint grease

I am installing a new u-joint during an engine rebuild and I need to know how much grease to use. Do I fully pack the u-joint and housing before closing things up?

Received the call today that my motor is done! One month from when I dropped it off. I a looking forward to start putting it back in next weekend once it is shipped to me.

I worked on this last night and set the center and front bearings to .001"-.0015" The challenge was lining up the cotter pins! I will be ordering a set of modern bolts and spare seals to install...

Thanks for the help. After scraping off a lot of gunk I found the pin. How are the bolts installed? Do they go in from the top? I am concerned I ruined my transmission case.
