That's why I use PayPal, yes they have fees but none of the bank drama. Works well for me from way Down-under in New Zealand i.e. nowhere near Australia :D

'57 Fairlane 500 Convertible top latch.

Can anybody tell me what keeps the top latches locked in place? My latches look like they have had tape on them to keep them latched. Do they have some sort of spring to hold them in the closed...

The first thing to do is check for voltage at the coil with the ignition on you should see between three to six volts at the low tension side of the coil. If you have nothing there then disconnect...

I think you'll find that the extra length is due to shifting the front axle forward, the drive train is the same dimensions on both ford and Mercury.

I have a pair of door top garnish trim pieces that have been chromed at some time and are still like new.

I have no use for them but need to establish a fair price to move them on to the next...

My choice would be to just replace the king pins and bushes. Nothing is to be gained by replacing the spindles unless they are dropped spindles to lower the front.

Certainly looks like some sort of inline noise suppression device i.e. what looks like a capacitor in the middle with a coil wound around the outside.
