Re: Drive shaft lock pin

Does your C&G pins have a hollow tip? The ones I used did. I did not trim at all, just a few wacks with the hammer(see post #39). If using NOS, do as deuce_roadster suggested.

Re: Generator and fan setup 59 AB

That's what I figured, just wanted to clarify as I think the OP misunderstood you in his response #7.

My 59a in the '38 has a generator mounted fan and the stock hub fan definitely would not fit.

Re: Generator and fan setup 59 AB

So what your saying is there should be clearance for a generator mounted fan but not enough clearance for the stock hub mounted fan if running a 59AB in a '34? Or do I got that bass ackwards?

Re: Generator and fan setup 59 AB

59ab is not the stock engine for your '34, will you have clearance to the radiator with the stock hub/bracket mounted fan? I have a 59a in my '38 and have the fan mounted on the generator.

If your liking the bare metal look, could you not just use a wax instead of painting as mentioned in the resent "patina or paint" thread?

Re: Just sent a new 302 CI Flathead Home . . .

Nice looking flathead! Were you able to fix the issues with the NOS block or did you have to source a different one?

That's great Gary! Nice job on the woody. To answer your question in #563, both Vaseline and dielectric grease can work to prevent corrosion by not allowing water and oxygen to come in contact. The...

Re: Some success on freeing up the valve on the 53!

If you haven't already, probably a good idea to change the oil before driving it all around given some of the fluids used to free the valve will now be mixed in your engine oil.

Piston opinions

For a stock budget build 59a, what is a decent piston to use? Not so cheap they are garbage but not an arm and a leg just for a "brand name".

Anyone used sealed power with any luck?
