My friend has a 1950 ford he would like to try a 331 gear out of a 51 automatic ? will it be to much gear? the 50 is stock. thanks for any info. Jack. the car has a 3.78 now,

Not a good idea to use both. If the stock one quits the full pump could have a split diaphragm and the elec. could fill the oil pan. Jack

Hi Dave, I just looked at their web site the tach I looked at has a 2inch face with chrome bezel at $144.65. did you have to drill the dash? Thanks for any info Jack. just xmass shopping for my 49...

starter button

The starter button on the 49, you have to push very hard on it to work. I have a 49 51 shop manual and there is nothing in there on replacement ? Thanks for any help. Jack.

What we used to do is fill the oil pump with STP fill the engine with 15 40 roll the engine over on starter with no plugs less then 1/2 minute have full pressure . Jack.

over drive cabel

While driving the 49 the OD. cable works it,s way down in OD then goes into free wheeling?. Has anyone had this problem .So far I have a large clothe pin on the cable it works. Jack.
