Re: Clutch not engaging

When I put the car in gear, pushed the clutch pedal down, and started the car, it immediately jumped forward. Even though the pedal is pushed and things appear to be moving OK, it's as if there were...

Re: Clutch not engaging

Everything under the car seems to be operating just fine. Removed the inspection plate and things seem fine there too. I'm not sure what I'm looking at but the clutchplate (?) appears to be moving...

Re: Clutch not engaging

I've tried rocking the car with it in gear and my wife holding in the clutch, but no luck? Do you think taking the spark plugs out would make the pushing easier without the compression of the engine...

Re: Coupe sputters after running for a while

I have a full tank and the sediment bowl and separate fuel filter are clean. I'm wondering if the float valve in the carburator is sticking.

Need a Model A doctor to diagnose this new problem.

Re: fuel soaked exhaust pipe on start up

Not sure if this is your problem but I've had the float valve inside the carburetor stick open, flooding the carburetor and causing fuel to pour out the back and onto the exhaust. Normally, a few...

Re: Very fine rust in gas tank-what to do?

I had the same problem except the "dust" was so heavy that it continually clogged the fuel line. Even though I had zero experience in such matters, I figured that it would never be trustworthy...

Re: Need help diagnosing new symptoms

The problem just developed when I tried to replace the coil. The old coil tested inconsistently so I bought a new one. I could never get the car to even start with the new coil, so I put the old...

Need help diagnosing new symptoms

Guys,

I've got a new problem. The car seems to idle just fine, but when I put any pressure on the gas pedal, the engine dies. What's going on?

My 30 Coupe has been running a little rough and I tested the resistance in the coil and found some inconsistent readings.... so I bought a new coil from Gaslight Auto Parts. The new coil...

Re: Fan Removal -- 2 Blade

Seth
I removed the radiator which gave me complete access to the fan and water pump. It's really not hard to do, just two bolts.

Re: Removing rear brake drum

I released the emergency brake (which makes sense) and hit the end of the hub puller with the BFH and it still doesn't budge. Maybe I'll pick a different wheel and see what happens.

I'm beginning to think you guys are right. I want it to be original but I also want it to be safe and safe trumps original.

Re: Headlamp socket question

Thanks. I have these...the bullet connectors fit into this. My question is about the other side of the connection...the female fitting. Any pictures of the socket inside the headlamp?

Re: Nasty looking impeller

I used a Dremel tool with a couple of different grinder and wire wheel attachments to knock the crud off. It now looks pretty good!

Re: Engine backfiring under load when hot

Re: Engine backfiring under load when hot

Seems like all gas has some ethanol in it these days. Is there an additive that will help?
