The dash is welded in by the way, not like some of the passenger vehicles dashes that were screwed in.

I have this in my documentation. It is a 1951 fuel sender assy listing from Ford.
It shows measurements for most 6v and 12v Ford factory fuel senders.
Upon further review (with a magnifying glass)...

Pin stripping tape is a good edge maker when doing detail work such as this.
It gives you that "cushion" of error and when the paint is dry, you remove it and have a straight clean edge.

Looks like the rubber hoses have left the cowl.
There is suppose to be cylindrical metal tubes that have a lip on them that fit into the holes in picture 1. And yes there is one on the passenger...

Most likely a fleet color paint job.
Ford was known to paint special color combinations for fleet orders (5 or more). Anything to assist with a sale.

Does it have anything to do with those torque stickes Ford/Lincoln mechanics use when they do tire removal? I know that the torque sticks ends that fit over the chrome wheel stud nuts are not deep...

not sure exactly what you are asking -- here are pictures of the pan that goes under the bottom of the grille

The 1st picture fire engine #8 is a 1935
The other two pictures are 1936

IF....you own a 1949 Ford or older, you will see the Ford script. If you own 1950 or newer, you will see FoMoCo.

The bolts on the side with 2 bolts -- the bolt heads should be drilled for a safety wire. The edge of the tank should have cage nuts-- as picture shows. The single side bolt should also be drilled...

Nope. Sorry, you are correct -- the bolt that goes through to the box is correct as your picture shows.
Yours does look like it is not of original manufacture.
