I think you have a good idea with the air ratchet..... I have an old one that turns slow..... which is good because I don’t move very fast anymore either!....... Mark

Eric... I believe exhaust manifolds interchange from year to year. This is on a ‘51 Shoebox and exits way to the rear. RHS. Available at Shoebox-Central.
