Dirty Carburetors

Re: Dirty Carburetors

Really? I’ll need to check that out when my tank is low again.

Dirty Carburetors

Dirty carburetors tend to be a frequent theme on this site. Many folks post about cleaning them out to get better performance.

I remember in the late 1970s and 1980s, Citgo gas tended to plug up...

Farmer Special. So that's what that noise was.

I’m interested as well. The previous owner of my car installed a Tremec T170, and I would like to learn more about it. Please continue posting on your progress.

Re: Michigan Roundup Aug. 2021

Yup, that’s it. When I saw it in 2018 (or 2017?), it looked like it had just received a fresh coat of Caterpillar yellow paint. It definitely stood out in the crowd. Lol Thanks for posting. It was...

Directionals

I had the same problem because I was using a thermal flasher. LED lights draw less current; so, there is not enough draw to trigger a thermal flasher. I tried some LED flashers, which worked great...

Re: Michigan Roundup Aug. 2021

I went to my first Dream Cruise a couple of years ago with my wife. Words fail to describe it adequately. The first “car” I saw there was what looked like an overgrown Model A, but it was based on...

A lot can change before the event. I’m registered and looking forward to it. If it gets cancelled, so be it.

Re: “The Restorer” for Jan/Feb 2021

“The Restorer” for Jan/Feb 2021

I received my copy of “The Restorer” for Jan/Feb 2021 today in VA. It seems the same corresponding issue of the “Model ‘A’ News” tends to run almost two months later than “The Restorer” for the last...

Floorboard Heater

The Sep/Oct 2020 issue of Model “A” News has a picture of what appears to be a floorboard heater on page 43.

Can anyone tell me how it was hooked up?

Is there a recognizable brand name for it?...

Re: Ford Barn sign-in

At least Windows 10 is better than Windows 8. I really didn’t care for the “dumbed down” Windows 8 at all. ;-)

Fire Truck Caught on Fire

The Nov/Dec 2020 issue of the Model “A” News has an ironic story on page 34 about a fire truck that managed to catch on fire during a fire truck rally.

Adding Guages

Wow. I didn’t know the “idiot light” was available way back in 1929. I had just assumed it was a late 1950s thing. (I think my 1957 Fairlane had idiot lights.)

Thanks for sharing.
