My heart is with you.
The fact that you miss him as you do is testament of the love you'd shared. That is a gift.

My condolences Tony ....

Either the system fits well or it doesn't.

Overall, I have been pleased with Waldron's...

Re: Mail order dual exhaust systems

Yes, real world experience. I checked the Rockwell on the last set from them and five of the sixteen were dead soft. I hate to think of the guys that didn't check theirs prior to fitting.

And...

Re: 40 Ford windnoise

It's difficult (obviously) to know if what you're experiencing is excessive for a '40 coupe.
They are not too noisy in my opinion. But yes, not nearly as air tight as a modern car.

There should...

Re: Mail order dual exhaust systems

Yeah, good point. A place that knowingly (or should know) they are selling poopy does not instill much confidence in me either.

I did attempt to install a dual exhaust set from them (client...

Re: 40 Ford Convertible Header

Frank, Typically within a "kit" you will receive enough bowdrill material to cover the front (wood) bow as well as the center of the #2 (steel) bow. The #2 steel bow only gets covered on the center...

Re: 40 Ford Convertible Header

Frank, The material was wrapped around the header with the "cut ends" positioned within the recess. Subsequently, the rubber seal was installed in the slot which covered the loose ends and nails.

Re: Flathead V-8 Starter Rebuilding

I never took your posts as anything but you making a valid point about some "rebuilders" offering better workmanship than others. I can't imagine anyone taking your posts otherwise.
I can not agree...

Re: Flathead V-8 Starter Rebuilding

You had gone way beyond what the industry standard calls for.
"Rebuilt" by industry norms, to reiterate in part my earlier post, does just what is necessary to make the unit function.

How many...

Re: Flathead V-8 Starter Rebuilding

Got one a few weeks ago for a '48 I was working on. About $100. I buy the REMANUFACTURED units.
Many folks I suspect do not realize there is a huge difference between rebuilt and remanufactured. ...

I knew you were in jest. I was attempting to ride along :)

Re: how many 1/8s can there be in 3/8

I did a lot of military application stuff... jet engine parts, tank engine and transmission parts.
Yeah, "good enough" was simply not a thing.
I truly enjoyed my career. I was able to use my mind...
