Re: Where to start tuning a pair of 81s

Stock 81's had 35 main jets and 61 power valves. Good place to start. Where's the blower?

Re: Brand New Holley 390 Carb --only $68

Re: Brand New Holley 390 Carb --only $68

I see a lot of similar stuff on Facebook market place. Water pumps, valve sets, etc for what seems like 1/2 price or less. Never took the dive.

Re: 8ba internal breather pipe

Yes the 49 to 53 is linger. There is a recess in the intake manifold that it fits up into.

Re: How Can I Check My Valve Lash Adjustment

With a stock cam, I set the engine at TDC firing on the cylinder I'm adjusting. You can use the rotor to determine what cylinder is firing and check those valves.

Re: Over 7 qts of oil!!!

Either the tube is too long or the dipstick is too short. Tube should be 8 21/64" long

Re: Sad news

Wow, what terrible news. I too met John out at Bonneville in 2008. Complimented him on his book. A real pleasure to talk to. A sad day in the flathead world. May he rest in peace.
