Windshield frame

Early brake cross shaft assembly Restored

The late Ron Rude restored cross shaft assembly. For the early 28. These are not reproduced. Other early brake shoes, including the emergency brakes.
Would like to see these go to a restorer.

If the transmission is out of the car the front casting the throw out rides on captures the front bearing. There is a snap ring, then disassembly.
The red book should walk you thru it.

So then I replaced the fiber tip with a modified piece of nylon bolt.
That way I also reduced bacon sales here in Brentwood.

Will give it a try.
Part of the problem with the repo switches I disassembled is the plunger angle is wrong and the plunger stuck, or was resistant to being depressed. More a design issue. That is...

The fiber wear point is problematic. Dielectric grease would attract road dust, or maybe not.
The failed switches I took apart usually had a worn out fiber insert.
