Re: distributor swap out question
You say are running 12V. Did you put in a ballast resistor or change the coil? You may have fried your condenser or your points may be pitted badly. Just a place to start.

Re: Clamp-on O2 Sensor
After I put the supercharger on my Tudor, I could not figure out the tuning. I finally bought an air/fuel gauge and put an O2 sensor in the exhaust. I had already switched to 12V earlier so it was...

Re: Ecklers hydraulic brake conversion kit
Interesting you should ask about this right now.
I am working on a front disc brake kit that uses the stock hubs, spindles, steering arms, tie rod and you don't have to cut the ball off the top of...

Re: Synchronized Transmission
The later 1930's Ford transmissions have a better gear ratio and the 1939 has good synchros. I changed to a 1936 for the gear ratios but it has pretty weak synchronization.

Re: Flickering Headlights
CatMan.
The light switch is enclosed in a housing attached to the lower end of the steering column with a wire bale. Once you pop the bale to the side, the wiring harness with the switch plates can...

Re: Headlight power wires ground continuity
What Bill G said.
The pads are domed and the contacts on the back of the bulbs are domed so it is easy to see a socket contact getting pushed to the side. I spent some time insulating the the back...

Re: '31 Tudor Sedan
Of course, it may be something obvious like your radiator is not cooling. No contact thermometers are pretty cheap and you can check to top of the radiator (at the return spigot) compared to the...

Dodge, It looks like you are going to a pusher water pump but I do not see your water routing. I am guessing it will feed from the aluminum plate to the inlet on the block?
A lot of cool...

Re: Weird bolt in engine block
You have a 1 in 5,000,000+ engine there!
You know, with the right marketing, every Model A owner will want to order one of those "speed bolts" for only $4.95 + shipping!

Re: lowering front end
Looking closer at the picture, I see how the tie rod is raised. The tie rod end rise is hidden behind the axle. Looking at the front end, it looks like you changed the tie rod too.
Your parts...

Re: lowering front end
Chris,
It looks like you used the stock style steering arms as opposed to the "drop axle" style. Did you have any problems? I am looking at the same axle for my 1930 Tudor. Thanks.

Re: 5.5:1 vs 6.0:1 heads
I went with the Snyder's 6:1 a few years ago and liked it. It is a good head. I have since gone with a Lion III head and I think it is smoother than the Snyder was.
If I were starting from scratch...

Re: Ford Lockheed (1) Brake Adjustment Aid?
8EL, I would worry that you are introducing an out of balance condition to your brake drum. The hole would need to give visibility to the contact of the shoe to the drum and would therefore be at...
