Last time I did one with a driver I put a hose clamp around the outside to keep it from collapsing the split bushing. worked great.

The 2nd and third gear synchronizer isn't centered in the hub. Is the shift lever in neutral? Before you put the top back on put it on the ground and see if it will roll.

Sounds like two gears at once in the transmission. Maybe the shift forks weren't engaged in the grove when the top was put back on.

Terry I don't think so. I use a Curtis cutter and book and it is the same as My KR Wilson. There are only 5 different depths of teeth.

Those hinges are held on by Phillips screws so a hand impact or cordless drill to drill them out. As a last resort a sawzall to cut the hinges.
