Thanks, Charlie - it is a Tanks gas tank and it was close but I was able to put it in and take it out with the small modification on that one frame rail.

I called Third Gen today and Mike was kind enough to send me the two bolts I need via snail mail. Great place to deal with - you were spot on Mark, to suggest calling them.

Ok - thank you gents. Now I’ve got how the arms are supposed to go but what about the bolts that hold the arms to the cowl? From Kube’s pic it looks like the uppers are the same as the lowers?

What bolts are used to attach the hood arms to the 40 Pickup cowl lip? Any pics or part number?

Just to be sure, the arms are on the outside of that lip and the springs face into the engine bay,...

I get most all of my F100 parts at the auto parts store save for the backing plates and hubs. I have even used the later F100 self adjusting kit on the early F100s. Just need to trim out the square...
