Re: Question about Head Marking

Tried to upload two photos but both uploads failed. Had trouble with this Saturday also, not sure why. If the head ever had an "F" on it, it is now badly worn. Sure looks like a "1" to me. Maybe...

Question about Head Marking

I have what appears to be a Model "A" engine but on the head (on top) is the marking "B-1". Other heads I have seen do not have this marking. I'm curious as to what I have. Any ideas?

Re: Front Fenders Hit the Shocks?

Well, here's my likely final post regarding this issue. I removed both shocks .. The arms are free but have next to no resistance or "shock effect". Removed the drain plug from each shock. There...

Re: Front Fenders Hit the Shocks?

Wow. Lots to digest. These shocks came as they are photographed already assembled and mounted to the chassis. Seems like I should at the very least try to swap them right to left. I'm not sure...

Re: Front Fenders Hit the Shocks?

Gentlemen, Thanks for all the replies so far. I am attaching the promised photos, one showing the driver's side fender attached and sitting on the shock, one showing the passenger side shock as...

Re: Front Fenders Hit the Shocks?

Dlfrish, these are 31 fenders. I do have one ‘28 passenger side front fender but I wouldn’t call it good. It’s rusty with a small tear in the front bead. Probably not worth the shipping expense.

Re: Front Fenders Hit the Shocks?

I won’t be back home until Monday, then I’ll take photos. They are mounted right side up. I can tell that from the above photo. They definitely reach above the frame though. I thought of just...

Re: Front Fenders Hit the Shocks?

Yes, they are original round shocks. Can’t spell the right word. Can’t take photos now ‘cause I’m out of the state. The comment about being upside down is intriguing. I didn’t mount them, they...

Front Fenders Hit the Shocks?

It's always another problem isn't it? Today I tried to mount the front fenders on my '31 Coupe. They line up nicely with the running boards, the splash aprons, the front fender brackets and the...

Re: Four-Ways Work, Turn Signals Don't !!!

Thanks Bad Puppy. I'll look into the bulb idea tomorrow. Found the problem with the turn signals and I'm almost embarrassed to share it, but I've learned so much on this forum I need to share the...

Re: Four-Ways Work, Turn Signals Don't !!!

Just checked the flasher recommended that's available on Ebay. It seems to be the same as the one I'm using. Mine says BV535 not 535. All the other markings are the same. 6 volt, 32 CP. Is there...

Re: Four-Ways Work, Turn Signals Don't !!!

Thanks for the ideas! Patrick L., no, the lights don't light at all. One instantaneous quick flash on whatever side is activated (in the rear flashers only, not in the front), then nothing. I also...

Re: Four-Ways Work, Turn Signals Don't !!!

Herb, Yes I'm sure they are 6 ohm. That's what all the suppliers seem to be recommending. They are wired, one each, to the brake / turn signal wire from each LED tail light and then grounded at the...

Thanks fellows. I thought of that myself after the brain fog left. Did that yesterday and I'm in good shape. Ready to finish the job. Thanks to all!

Re: Checking the Horn Circcuit

Thanks Jim. That makes sense to me and thankfully I think I'm okay to proceed. Seems there's no easy way to test with a test light. I'll try an ohm meter.

Re: Is This the Difference between Original and Repop?

I took a tape measure to see just what was happening. The three identical original fenders measure seventy-one inches from the area that bolts to the running board to the end of the tail section. ...

Re: Is This the Difference between Original and Repop?

who knows. The curve seems okay most of the way around but the passenger side fender is clearly much shorter in the tail. That side is about one and a half inches higher from the ground than the...

Re: Is This the Difference between Original and Repop?

Ray,
I have no idea who made the repos. The two black fenders came from a donor I was told was a '30. The blasted but un-repaired fenders came on the '31 coupe. The black driver's side fender...

Thanks for the info. I'll see what I can find or just do without. By the way, I agree with both Bill and Burner31!

Re: Am I Missing a Part?

That's kind of what I thought but can't find any reference to them in vendor catalogs. Any idea where I can find the other half?
