1952 merc rear bumper guards
I have a guy I met at a car show that wants a set of rear bumper guards off my 52 merc. they are in good condition with no missing chrome, but I don't know what they are worth what do you guys think?

if it really is pot metal it can be tig welded I have special rod and have done many mustang pot metal parts for my buddys. then a chrome shop can rechrome..last time i bought the rod it was $60 / lb.

52 merc spare tire and tools storage
I have looked in the owners manual and it does not show the proper location of the tire, jack, wrench, etc. any one know or have pics of the trunk storage? thanks Lou.

the clutch disc should have cushioning wafer springs between the two friction sides to prevent chatter. look at the edge for for this cushion and separation.

if the stud or bolt breaks off at the surface I tig weld a washer to the bolt/stud then weld a nut to the washer and they come out all the time.

To me black oil indicates combustion products are getting into the oil and excessive ring blow by is the most likely cause..did you check compression?
