Thanks for all the advice, gentlemen. Looks like I will have to get a better tool to install the next set.

Re: Rock Auto cam bearings a little tight

I'm not concerned so much that the cam may not be running true. That might be the case if the cam had gone farther than 3/4 inch into the first bearing.

Angry Rock Auto cam bearings a little tight

With the weather finally starting to warm up a little, I decided to start re-assembling the 8BA for my 1950 Ford. I had bought the cam bearings from Rock Auto and installed them months ago, but...

Re: 50 Ford Caster and Camber bushing tools 3089-N, 3046-N

My uppers measure about 1.3"
The lowers are about 1.2"

Of course, YMMV.

Re: Shoebox Front Suspension Control Arms

Thanks!

Re: Ford/Holley 94 tear down and reassembly!

Thank you for this and all the details you included!

Shoebox Front Suspension Control Arms

How close to centered should the control arms be attached to the inner support shafts? I just realized that when I reinstalled them, they are off center about 1/8".

Or am I just overthinking this?

Shoebox Front Shocks

Does anyone have recommendations for front shock absorbers on a 1950 Ford V8 Sedan?

The cheapies on Rock Auto don't appear to have all the bushings needed.

Re: 1950 Ford Overdrive problem

Just thought I'd post an update on this:

I have tried twisting against it as hard as I dare, back and forth with second and reverse locking the gears up.
I have tried hammering with a brass rod at multiple points around the circumference....
